The first time Stijlgroep designed the high end urban plan in an agricultural landscape context, we won the competition for a developer. Unfortunately, the developer went bankrupt, leaving the municipality with the building site. Together with the municipality of Waddinxveen we created a landscape lay-out and urban plan, together with a set of plot rules on how to build according to the identity of this landscape and thus put the municipality able to develop the whole plan itself. In a time where the housing crisis was at its peak, and the market for this kind of houses collapsed, the first plots for self-realisation were sold and three years later only few plots are available anymore. In the meantime, the landscape is developing, the nature playground well used and the first demands for expansion of this plan to the next building site are heard.
