Maasvlakte I is a huge industrial area in the port of Rotterdam, where the river meets the North Sea. With a lot of labour in large industrial complexes, remote from the living districts. There is a good infrastructure, but most of the roads are used for cargo, so additional transport is required. The comfort of traditional bus stop shelters do not protect the waiting people from the hard wind and rains. The dimensions of cargo-containers, translated into a sheltered bus-stop, are the answer to the harsh weather conditions in the Port of Rotterdam, close to the North Sea.
